We are very busy up until the school summer holidays surprisingly so there may be some good deals to be had! We are also looking for somewhere in the summer holidays in Devon or Cornwall - has anyone got any gaps?

.February

I think everyone will agree this is a grim time of the year. The cottages have been booked for some short breaks, and the Cotswolds have looked beautiful as ever on snowy, sunny days. I have had to take full advantage of these due to our new member of the family, Bertie, an enormous golden labrador now ten months old..who needs at least two walks a day. Reluctantly we have had to invest in an eletric shock collar forl lhim as he kept on goingoff into the village. We read that in wales you can be put into prison for using one. We do hate It but I think it has done the trick. Our latest bad news is that Bill has been in hospital for a lweek after a heart attack. he is miles better now having had a stent fitted.. But is still eating butter.! Hamish is still recovering after his colonoscopy anid patiently awaits next reversal op. annoyingly he now has rhumatism as a side effect .

On .a more cheerful note we are all so excited that Petra is expecting the baby any time now so we
Are all ready. At half term Auriol and Oliver ran a very sucessful art workshp for children of all ages . The project they worked on was inspired by the Aztecs and they all went home with great sculptures made out of clay. Also, at half term Kallum did a speech and drama four day workshop in Cheltenham called The Focus Theatre >www.playhousecheltenham.org which he really did enjoy.
The pottery classes for adults are going really well too. This is taking ages to write as I am using a new ipad. Calling off for the moment as this key ad takes ages!

New week at Upper Court.....

Lovely set of chairs arrived from auction in Edinburgh, sadly not in one piece so now have to go through all the aggro of insurance, etc. Very busy weekend showing brides around wedding venue for this year and next at Upper Court. Good time for them to come as holiday cottages are more or less empty at the moment for people to see inside. Busy making marmalade which didn't quite work....used James Martin recipe from google....more like candied peel!

Corporate events seem to be coming back which must mean recession is not quite so bad.

Working hard at getting names and addresses up to date on database. Anyone wanting a copy of our new wedding brochure please email us at herfords@uppercourt.co.uk

It has been wonderful weather for walking naughty Bertie, now 9 months, on Bredon Hill and Ben follows faithfully (now 14). Have installed the electric shock wire round the garden to keep Bertie in but can't bear to try it out! Waiting to get the tape to show him where it is. He has been visiting so many people in the village that it is no longer funny....they all want to keep him as he is so lovely! I wonder if anyone has experience of the PAC kit for keeping dogs in. The vet assured us it was OK. He is going to be circumcised...whoops I mean castrated! on Thursday, dare not tell Hamish and Oliver as I know they will really disapprove. No news of Hamish's next operation yet. Auriol and Kallum come home tomorrow, hooray!
